Avana Highland Ridge Apartments at 8500 Franciscan Woods Drive, Columbus, Georgia.

They do not make the leasing or apartment shopping process very pleasant.

The 2 people (one was the manager) we talked with were somewhat snooty and had this air of superiority about them. The main push is to get you to lease an apartment right away because you'll "save money" which when calculated out, you would lose a significant amount of money, let's say, if leasing 15 days before you're ready to move out of your old place so that you can get that "lower rate." They keep making it seem like you'll get a good deal by "locking in the lower rate." I'm sure only a few times signing before you're ready to move out will benefit you since most people start looking for apartments a month before their lease expires at their old place.

We emailed the manager when we were interested in the apartment a few weeks ago with questions we had after our initial meeting and our email was never returned.

The $30 valet trash fee is ridiculous, and should not be a required monthly fee.

Ultimately, we did not and will not sign.

As others have noted, the staff is very rude and quite pushy honestly. They don’t honor what is stated on their website and make up terms to offers. We were told we would get $500 that could go towards application fees, administrative fees, and rent. What we weren’t told was that the offer had to be accepted the day of....

When I went back to try and get an apartment all of the sudden the $500 offer was no longer valid. Again, this was never explained to us and not stated on the website.

Poor customer service.
